FAQ: FAQ

IS THERE AVAILABILITY FOR THE DATES I WANT TO DIVE?

We have four large boats and it is rare that we do not have availability. If you have any questions or specific dates in mind, please email us at Info@AquanautsGrenada.com to inquire about confirming your underwater explorations with us.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

We have two shops. Our headquarters are at True Blue Bay Resort and our second shop (watersports facility) is located on the world famous Grand Anse Beach at the Spice Island Beach Resort.

Our boats are docked at True Blue Bay Resort which is where divers/snorkelers will check-in, unless otherwise noted by our team.

DO YOU OFFER TRANSPORTATION TO YOUR DOCKS?

We have a partnership with Spice Island Beach Resort and Blue Horizons Garden Resort and will pickup and drop off guests for $15 USD per day. While we would love to offer this service to other locations around Grand Anse and Point Saline, it is dependent on our availability. The cost is still $15 USD per day, please contact our Front Office Team via email at Info@AquanautsGrenada.com for more information.

DO YOU OFFER TOURS / TRANSFERS FROM THE CRUISE SHIP TERMINAL?

Unfortunately, our boat schedule does not allow us to service individual cruise ship arrivals. However, we can offer a Private Boat Charter, depending on availability. Private dive/snorkel charters do not include transfers from and to the cruise ship dock so you would need to hire a taxi to take you to our shop at True Blue Bay Resort.  For more information, please contact us at Info@AquanautsGrenada.com

WHY DIVE NITROX?

Nitrox increases your bottom time on deeper dives and safety when you do multiple dives. Nitrox divers don't feel as tired in the evenings and some feel that they use less air. Diving with Nitrox is simple and the certification can be obtained in just a couple of hours.

To really dive Grenada, Nitrox is a must. Our best wrecks and reefs are at depths that become restrictive on an air profile which is why we offer Nitrox 30% for FREE for certified divers. We highly recommend going to your local dive shop and getting Nitrox certified before coming to Grenada. If you want to do the certification here, please contact us at Info@AquanautsGrenada.com for more information.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET TO THE DIVE SITES?

Majority of the dive sites are roughly 5 - 25 minutes boat ride away from our dive center. There are some great sites in the northern end of our Marine Protected Area, including the Underwater Sculpture Park and Flamingo Bay Reef, that are 40 minutes away.

IS THERE SHORE DIVING IN GRENADA?

Most of the reefs and wrecks are offshore and not within reach from shore so shore diving is not something that we offer.

WHAT SIZE ARE YOUR DIVE GROUPS ON THE BOAT?

We dive in small groups and try to keep the ratio of Divers to Guides at 4-to-1. We are also happy to do multiple drops around a site so that divers with common skill sets are grouped together. We make sure you see more fish than divers!

WHAT IS THE WATER TEMPERATURE?

Winter minimum 78 F / 25 C, in Summer up to 86 F / 30 C.

HOW IS THE VISIBILITY?

Varies with currents between 20 - 70 meters / 60 - 200 feet.

WHERE IS THE NEAREST RECOMPRESSION CHAMBER?

There is one located 15 min from the dive center on the island of Grenada at St. Augustine Medical Services (SAMS) Hospital. There is also one in Barbados and Trinidad, roughly 20 minutes flight.

WHEN IS THE RAINY SEASON?

From June until November, heavier rains are possible. The remaining time is very pleasant with a cooling shower every now and then.

CAN WE DIVE WITH AQUANAUTS IF WE STAY ELSEWHERE?

Yes you can. Transportation to our docks at True Blue Bay Resort can be arranged with us, depending on availability or through the concierge at the resort you are staying at. The bus system and taxi system is very fluid in Grenada as well. Please contact us at Info@AquanautsGrenada.com for more information.

WHAT CAN KIDS DO WHILE WE ARE DIVING?

Depends on their age, most hotels have babysitters available or kids programs. We also have a kids program starting with the bubble maker at the age of 8.
