Three Awards. One Ocean.

Over the past year, Aquanauts has been honored with three very different awards. At first glance, they recognize excellence in tourism, hospitality, and youth conservation. To us, they all recognize the same idea: that meaningful experiences with the ocean can change people—and people who change can help change the ocean.

The 2025 Caribbean Coral Reef Tourism Stewardship Award recognized our belief that tourism and conservation can strengthen one another—using meaningful visitor experiences and community engagement to help develop lifelong ocean stewards.

The 2025 Grenada Chamber of Commerce Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Award recognized the experience we strive to create for every guest who walks through our doors.

Most recently, the 2026 Grenada National Youth Award for Outstanding Marine and Ocean Conservation Organization recognized the work being done through Aqua Rangers and HydroSoul to help develop the next generation of marine conservation leaders.

On the surface, these seem like three very different awards.

To us, they tell one story.

When we became the owners of Aquanauts in 2021, we knew we wanted to build more than a successful dive operation. We wanted to create a place where people felt welcome, where they could experience Grenada's incredible underwater world, and where they left with a deeper appreciation for the ocean than when they arrived.

We often say that people come as guests and leave as family. That isn't a marketing slogan. It's the culture we've worked hard to build.

If you've ever spent time on one of our boats, you know that isn't just something we put on a website. It's how we try to treat every person who dives with us.

Because we believe something very simple.

People protect what they love.

For many of our visitors, a dive in Grenada is the first time they've experienced a living coral reef. They've never hovered weightless above a sponge garden, watched a hawksbill turtle glide past, or seen the incredible diversity that exists beneath the surface. Those experiences create something that facts and statistics alone never can—a personal connection.

Meaningful experiences transform awareness into responsibility.

When people connect with the ocean, they begin to care about its future.

For our guests, that connection may mean returning home with a new appreciation for the marine world and becoming advocates for its protection wherever they live.

For our Grenadian youth, that same connection can become something even more.

Through Aqua Rangers, we are working to help young people move beyond simply observing the ocean. They learn to explore it, understand it, contribute to its protection, and eventually become leaders who inspire others to do the same. The goal has never been simply to create divers. The goal is to help develop the people who will build the future of marine conservation in Grenada and across the Caribbean.

When we look at these three awards together, we don't see recognition for three separate accomplishments.

We see three steps in the same journey.

First, help people fall in love with the ocean.

Then help them understand it.

Then help those who are called to it become the people who will protect it for generations to come.

That's the journey these awards recognize.

Whether you spend a week diving with us on vacation or join us as a Grenadian beginning your conservation journey, you're becoming part of something much bigger than a dive operation.

You're becoming part of a community that believes healthy oceans begin with people who care enough to protect them.

These awards belong to all of us. And they remind us that the most important work is still ahead.

Because the ocean changes people.

And those people change the ocean.
