World's Largest Synchronized Virtual Dive

This June 7th, The Hydrous will be leading the World's Largest Synchronized Virtual Dive to kick off World Ocean Week 2021. With the help from our partners Meridian Treehouse, LenovoEDU, EarthXR, Black Dot Films, and Showtime VR, we will be deploying a synchronized, immersive dive experience called Expedition Palau.  The virtual dive will integrate a live streamed video presentation with 360º film through a free, simple, and easy-to-use application. As long as you have an internet connection, you can join fellow virtual divers from all over the world—in real time, as we explore marine ecosystems below the waves.

Exclusive Streaming & Broadcast Partner: EarthXR

Meridian Treehouse is a Washington, D.C. based strategic storytelling & experience innovation collaborative. Founded by award winning media producer and experience innovator Wesley Della Volla. They focus their passion for innovation, collaboration, and storytelling with partners who share their drive to keep us socially connected in a time of physical distancing. They spend their days developing virtual experiences that elevate, educate, and of course, entertain. They strive to create inclusive events and storytelling strategies for partners outside of traditional institutional confines.

Technology Partner: Showtime VR 

Showtime VR is a professional solution for synchronised VR playback with over 500 business customers worldwide. This flexible system allows you to easily manage a synchronized group experience in virtual reality from schools to professional training and film shows. It is child’s play to operate, but at the same time the solution offers very advanced playback solutions also for many participants scattered around the world. Showtime VR helps you distribute 360° video content online to all headsets (Library) and create branching narrative based on videos (Story). Their software has been used at the official VR programs for both Cannes and Venice Film Festivals, National Geographic, Steinway, EdisonCon, National Museum of Australia, PwC, Pathé cinemas and many more.
